High Mountain Cabin Rentals at 434 McConnell Street, Jefferson, North Carolina.

My extended family and I recently stayed at "Beyond the Clouds" (October 2017 for 3 nights) via High Mountain Cabin Rentals. Originally for a fall weekend but turned into a gathering for a funeral. Upon arrival found an ENTIRE bathroom under construction, basement kitchen area with only sub floor, heating vent completely open, construction dust everywhere. No signs (we had young children) marking areas of construction. Apparently an email had been sent to me (they gave me proof) but I had not received it. There was no other attempt made prior to our stay to ensure we had received the message that we are down 1 whole full bathroom. More importantly the party line was that there was another bathroom so "sorry". No possible compensation offered for the inconvenience. One of the bedroom doors was completely obstructed by an exercise bike.

On our last night, one of the remaining toilets backed up. I appreicated the assistance from the manager via texting, however there was absolutely no plunger around for us to fix this. All in all the house was "okay" -- obviously going under repairs. lots of cosmetic things need updating. For me, the ignoring of my query for some kind of compensation for the lack of communication prior to our stay as well as when we pointed out the problems with the bathrooms, is just poor customer service. I have never stayed at a rental where if there were this significant issues, there wasn't some kind of discount made. Just beware that if things go wrong, it doesn't seem to be a problem the company is interested in fixing or making right.
